Art grows and thrives in this calm and leisure village. Chunru Deng, born and raised in Aohu. After graduating from Guangzhou Academy of Fine Art, he went back to Shenzhen, trying to micro-transform his hometown with art, and is regarded as the practitioner of the reconstruction of rural community culture and art.
Under the influence of Chunru Deng and others, Aohu is now home to more than60 artists from all over the country and even overseas. They set up studio here and concentrate on art making. These artworks cover traditional Chinese painting, printmaking, oil painting, sculpture, drama, music, calligraphy and etc., which greatly enrich the artistic ecological diversity in Aohu and gradually become a new force in the field of culture and art in Shenzhen. Moreover, the name of Aohu was suffixed with the word“art village” quietly.
